Welcome to the open source movement for organizational transformation!

The BetaCodex Network was founded in April 2008. Back then, we called it the Beyond Budgeting Transformation Network, with a nod to the think tank from which it had very recently originated - the Beyond Budgeting Round Table. We wanted this new network to be quite different from the previous one, though. Less hierarchical. More future- and action-oriented. More relevant for practitioners everywhere. More open. More collaborative. A true peer-to-peer network.

On the occasion, we launched a simple 1-page draft website, which would slowly grow to about 9 pages. The first couple of months went mostly into producing initial content for the network. Also, into talking to peers whom we thought would want to join. And we dedicated a lot of time to figuring out how the new, international network might work best.

Now, about one and a half years after the original launch, it is about time to create a new and professional web portal that will allow us to fulfil the promise of the "taking the movement open source"! In December 2008, we decided to use an open source Content Management System called "drupal" to build this web portal, which you now find here in a beta version.

We hope you enjoy the new web presence, that you sign up to the site to become a "BetaCodex Network Associate" and thus a member of the community, that you join the discussion in the online forum and come back frequently to take part in the network´s development! If you want to become engaged in contributing actively to the network, then don´t hesitate: Together, we can MAKE IT REAL!
